Report on the AICTE Sponsored Two day Workshop on Recent trends in Fluid Mechanics & Numerical Techniques
The workshop was held on 19th and 20th Jan-2014 at Sri Vasavi Institute of Engineering & Technology at Nandamuru. During the inauguration, the members of the management were present. Sri K.Kumar Babu who was an eminent engineer and worked with corporate giant Larsen & Toubro who executed several projects worth Rs. 30,000/- crores (Nationally and internationally) is presently the Correspondent of the Institute inaugurated the workshop by lighting the lamp then followed by prayer song.

Dr.K Ramesh Principal SVIET stressed the need of Numerical Methods and its importance in various fluid flow problems.

Dr. D.R.K.Reddy-Retired Professor of Applied Mathematics from Andhra University delivered the key note address wherein the basic concepts of Fluid Mechanics were highlighted. He stressed the need for Numerical Techniques in the real life situations. He also highlighted the need for such methods due to the complex nature of fluid flow.

Subsequently, Dr. T.Hymavathi Associate Professor Adikavi Nannaya University illustrated the real life examples by applying quasi-linearised method in several fluid flow situations thereby applying the need for Numerical Methods.

Thereafter, Prof. S.Srinivas Division of Fluid Mechanics from Vellore Institute of Technology. Vellore delivered a lecture on Flow in Channels A discussion by applying Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM) which occurs in several situations.

On the second day, Prof. T.K.V.Iyyengar-Retired Professor of Applied Mathematics from National Institute of Technology, Warangal Introduced the basic concepts of Fluid Mechanics and highlighted the several situations where in the latest Computational Methods that occur and the convergence of such solutions.

Subsequently, Prof. J.V.Ramana Murthy Dept. of Applied Mathematics from National Institute of Technology, Warangal Delivered a talk on High Viscous Fluid Flow Problems in thin films which plays an important role in geothermal and Chemical Engineering Problems.

Later, Prof. B.D.C.N.Prasad PVP Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Vijayawada highlighted the basic concepts and Applications of Shooting Method and Stability Analysis that occurs in several Heat and Mass transfer problems.

Finally, the Valedictory function was conducted and Participation certificates were distributed to all such Participants who attended the Programme. Thereafter, vote of thanks was given to all management members and speakers and Participants.

All the Managements members specially thanked AICTE authorities for their financial support in conduction of such a Programme at the Institute.
